Brod documentation

Brod's documentation lives with the code in the open-source repository on GitHub. This page points to the right file for each question and gives you the commands to connect an agent.

claude mcp add --transport http brod https://brod.sh/mcp

Connect your agent

Brod is an MCP server at https://brod.sh/mcp, using the Streamable HTTP transport. Connect your coding agent once, then ask it to deploy.

  • Claude Code

    Run this, then run /mcp in Claude Code, pick brod and sign in in the browser.

    claude mcp add --transport http brod https://brod.sh/mcp

    Step-by-step: Claude Code

  • Cursor

    Add Brod to ~/.cursor/mcp.json, or .cursor/mcp.json in the project, with a token from your workspace's connections page.

    {
      "mcpServers": {
        "brod": {
          "url": "https://brod.sh/mcp",
          "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer brod_..." }
        }
      }
    }

    Step-by-step: Cursor

  • Codex

    Put your token in BROD_TOKEN, then add this to ~/.codex/config.toml. Codex's MCP configuration has changed between releases, so check its documentation for your version.

    [mcp_servers.brod]
    url = "https://brod.sh/mcp"
    bearer_token_env_var = "BROD_TOKEN"

    Step-by-step: Codex

  • Anything else

    Any agent that speaks MCP over HTTP can connect to https://brod.sh/mcp with Authorization: Bearer brod_..., or with OAuth 2.1.

    No workspace yet? Create one.
